This is a coming into its 2nd year Juvenile “BALD EAGLE” and is a rare occurrence in Orange County.
It was spotted on Friday January 13th 2006 at 10:00 am in the tall tree between Country Trails and PHEC and was thought to be a Golden Eagle by observers…
Pictures were sent to Prof. Joel Weintraub PhD - Biology, Calif. State Univ., Fullerton for verification. Joel helped us identify the Magpie Jay last year. As a backup he in turn sent the pictures to a friend Doug Willick who agreed it was a juvenile bald eagle and Doug thought it was interesting that the bird was spotted within the stable grounds.
So keep your eyes open and you too may get to see this magnificent bird!
